Urgent appointments
To request urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday):
This is an online system, so we would strongly encourage all patients to submit their own appointment request.
We appreciate that this may not be possible for some patients, so if you do not have access to the internet or a smartphone, you can phone us on 01342 822131 Monday to Friday from 08.30am to 6.30pm, or come into the surgery, and a receptionist will complete the form on your behalf. However, the process we will ask you to follow to request an appointment will be the same whether you contact us via our website, by phone or face to face.
We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.
Non-urgent or Routine appointments
To request a non-urgent appointment within the next 14 days
This is an online system, so we would strongly encourage all patients to submit their own appointment request.

Appointment Triage System
All patient requests are reviewed by one of our doctors, who decides the appropriate outcome. This could be:
- an appointment with one of our doctors;
- an appointment with another part of our team, such as a physio or a specialist nurse;
- an appointment with the new Pharmacy First scheme for one of seven common conditions. Read more about the Pharmacy First Scheme;
- a quick call or message from the doctor with help and advice.
We will respond to everyone on the same day if we can, but within 48 working hours at the most.
Requests that are truly urgent for medical reasons will be prioritised and responded to first. So will requests for vulnerable patients, very young children or patients with complicated health conditions.
We would like to remind everyone that we are not designed to be an emergency service. Our capacity to see patients on the same day that the appointment is asked for is limited. We will only consider medical reasons for an urgent appointment.
If the doctor who reviews your request wants you to see one of our GPs, we will send you a link via SMS to book an appointment at a time and day you choose, with a doctor you choose, subject to their availability. This can be up to 2 weeks ahead, if you want.
Our Telephone System
Our phone lines are busiest when we open at 8.30am. Please be patient as we normally work through this queue within 20 minutes. If you are calling for any reason other than to book for an appointment please call after 11am. There is a call back function if you don’t want to stay on hold whilst waiting, which will keep your place and call you back when you reach the top of the queue.
Cancelling or changing an appointment
To cancel your appointment:

Home visits
If you are housebound and need an appointment, we can do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need.
To request a home visit, please phone the practice 01342 822131. It’s helpful to do this as early as possible.
